INTRODUCTION
This course seeks to build an understanding of how gender statistics can be used to enhance evidence-based policy making at the country level among data producers and users. The course makes the business case for gender-informed statistics, looks at data sources, conceptual and measurement issues, how to analyze and interpret the data.
Narrated presentations are accompanied by guided readings, and case studies from around the world. There are exercises and interactive discussions to analyze and apply the information learned, and share experiences with other practitioners around the world.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the training, you will be able to:
- Understand basic gender concepts and gender analysis tools
- Generate gender statistics out of gender issues
- Perform Gender Analysis and make inferences
- Develop a gender responsive budgets
- Develop gender-responsive planning skills
- Implement gender-sensitive development policies

The course targets statistics producers (statisticians) and users who aim to influence the process of gender statistics collection, analysis and use. This includes policymakers, staff from government agencies, researchers, advocates, and other data users,
