INTRODUCTION
The course focuses on clinical research data management that complies with international Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards as published by the International Congress on Harmonization, E6 Consolidated Guidance. The course will have an overview of the GCP process used internationally for conduct of human subjects’ research, and how it supports research data management that is accurate, complete, timely, verifiable, secure, and available for analysis.
The course will balance theoretical guidelines with the use of practical tools designed to assist in planning and conducting research. Real-world research examples, problem solving exercises and hands-on training will ensure students are comfortable with all concepts.

This course is geared towards clinical researchers, investigators, research nurses, study coordinators and all other study staff.

  • International controlled vocabulary standards for creation of research variables and their values using REDcap (Research Electronic Data Capture)
  • Creation of paper and electronic data capture forms
  • Principles and practice of information security
  • Mobile data collection using Open Data Kit (ODK)
  • Approaches to data validation and cleaning
  • Participants will create a research data management plan as an independent work assignment, and implement a sample study using REDCap and ODK
The 5 day course costs 750$ (75,000 KES), The Cost includes all training fees, materials, lunch and refreshments as well as certificates and 6 month post training support.
