INTRODUCTION
Social protection is commonly understood as all public and private initiatives that provide income or consumption transfers to a defined group of people including the poor, the vulnerable or marginalised against livelihood risks and enhance the social status and rights with the overall objective of reducing their economic and social vulnerability. The varied objectives of social protection include reducing poverty and vulnerability, building human capital, empowering women and girls, improving livelihoods, and responding to economic and other shocks among other objectives. This 5 days course aim to equip participants with skills necessary in designing, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social protection intervention.
