Introduction

Occurrence management is a fundamental part of constant perfection. It is the process by which near errors or errors get identified and taken care off. The objective of an occurrence management program is to rectify the errors in either testing or communication that result from an occurrence, and to adjust the procedure so that the error is not likely to occur once more. It is one of the twelve quality essentials, and must be addressed in laboratory quality management. This module will describe and explain basic elements that are essential for developing an effective occurrence management program.

Therefore, the module will provide you with the understanding and knowledge to pinpoint risks before they become occurrences and exactly how to handle occurrences to stop them from becoming recurrences.

1. Define “occurrence” and identify the role of occurrence investigation in the quality management system (QMS).
2. Explain how to build an occurrence investigation process that encourages a culture of employee engagement.
3. Identify the primary elements needed for investigating occurrences and discuss their functions

Who should attend?

This program is designed as an educational and training tool for MLS, MT, and MLT personnel, medical laboratory science students and interns, pathology residents, and practicing pathologists.

Methodology

The instructor guided trainings get delivered using a blended learning technique and includes of presentations, led sessions of practical exercise and web-based tutorials. 1. The participant must be conversant with English.
2. Upon completion of training the participant will be issued with an Authorized Training Certificate
3. Course duration is flexible and the contents can be revised to fit any number of days.
4. The course fee comprises facilitation training materials, 2 tea breaks, buffet lunch and a Certificate upon successful completion of Training for onsite trainings.
5. One-year post-training support Consultation and Coaching provided after the course.
