  • Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Power Option) course is designed to provide trainees with skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them perform and manage tasks in Electrical Engineering and related fields or progress in further training.

 

The training shall be carried out in three levels; Module I, Module II and Module III. Candidates will be issued with a KNEC Certificate and Beacon Technical Training Institute certificate of competence upon successful completion of the course.

The Craft Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Technology (Power Option) course is designed to provide trainees with skills, knowledge and attitudes for the installation, operation, service and maintenance of electrical of electrical installation systems and basic electronic equipment.

 

The training shall be carried out in two levels; Module I and Module II. Candidates will be issued with a KNEC Certificate and Beacon Technical Training Institute certificate of competence upon successful completion of the course.

  • Artisan Certificate in Electrical Installation

This Course is designed specifically for primary 8 school leavers in line with the national objectives for training programs.

 

The course emphasis is on developing practical skills that will enable the graduate to carry out to carry out domestic installation and repair basic appliances correctly and safely. He/she will also be able to carry out the wiring of light industrial installations.

 

In addition to practical skills, related subjects which include Mathematics and Science, Applied Geometry, General Studies and Electrical Trade Theory are also incorporated to provide the student with additional cognitive and effective skills so that he/she has a better understanding of his work and his role in society.

  • Solar Photovoltaic Installation

The Solar Photovoltaic Course is developed to test the competencies of persons engaged in the solar photovoltaic systems design and installation work for small to medium single battery direct current systems, and multiple batteries which may include an inverter (incorporating single or multiple modules up to 100-300 Wp)

 

This is in order to standardize their operations and certify them for their sustainability to carry out tasks expected at this level. The skill area takes into consideration the knowledge requirements, practical competence and attitudes necessary for job performance.

 

A solar photovoltaic graduate is a skilled technician with knowledge of techniques and the use of appropriate tools, measuring instruments and equipment which are needed to perform a job with efficiency and understanding.
