INTRODUCTION
This course prepares participants in development, promotion, and maintenance of workplace policies and programs that ensure the physical, mental, and social well-being of employees so as to enhance productivity reduce health management cost. Workplace and work environment that is safe, without health risks and adequate as regards facilities and arrangements for the worker's welfare at work should be maintained at all costs.
Workers should be well informed of any risks and imminent danger related to new technologies and they should participate in the application and review of safety and health measures.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, trainees will be able to:
v Explain that occupational health and safety is more than accident prevention – that it encompasses all aspects of working conditions
v Explain the role of health representatives in occupational health
v Recognize a number of occupational hazards and some of the types of work generally associated with those hazards
v Explain ways in which hazardous waste can enter the body and how to prevent them from entering the body
v Understand fire safety and how to conduct a fire drill

METHODOLOGY
The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.
All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.
TRAINING VENUE, LOGISTICS AND PAYMENT
v Training is residential and will be held at Afriex Training Centre.
v The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, lunch, and study visits.
v Accommodation and airport transfer are arranged upon request by the participant.
v This training can also be tailor made for your institution upon request. You can have it delivered in our training Centre or at a convenient location.
