Green & Sustainable procurement is about taking social and environmental factors into consideration
alongside financial factors in making procurement decisions. It involves looking beyond the traditional economic parameters and making decisions based on the whole life cost, the associated risks, measures of success and implications for society and the environment. Making decisions in this way requires setting procurement into the broader strategic context including value for money, performance management, corporate and community priorities. This course is designed to solidify and build on your understanding of how to integrate sustainability in the supply chain in order to promote sustainability issues via key control points of the procurement cycle.
More specifically, the course will cover how sustainability affects activities like specification
development, tender criteria, proposal evaluation, contract award and whole-life costing techniques.Delegates will receive practical guidance on how to implement sustainability themes across these different areas, as well as understand how to proactively manage sustainability across a range of expenditure categories.
